He may have been caught sleeping behind the wheel with his lackluster work on the 3D superhero flick "The Green Hornet," but director Michel Gondry appears to be wide awake and back on the right track. Returning to his roots, the visionary wildman directs the romantic French fantasy "Mood Indigo" (set to open in France in April), starring Amelie's Audrey Tautou as an unlucky woman who catches an unusual flower-centric illness, shortly after she marries her perfect husband, a wealthy young piano inventor (played by Romain Duris).
In the movie's first international trailer (above), we see that Gondry hasn't lost his touch of blending breathtaking imagery with his unconventional taste for doomed love. It is, after all, a style that has worked well for the director in his acclaimed hits "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "The Science of Sleep." And frankly, we wouldn't want it any other way.
