Don't let the ticket sales fool you. "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" gained a large devoted following since its theatrical release in late September, despite only making $17 million at the US box office. And we can only imagine the number of fans will grow exponentially when the film finally arrives on Blu-Ray/DVD on February 12th. So, with its home market release approaching, Summit Entertainment -- the distributor label that released the coming-of-age, high school drama about a shy outcast named Charlie (Logan Lerman) who comes out of his shell after he befriends a pair of charismatic seniors (Emma Watson and Ezra Miller) -- has dropped this new Blu-Ray trailer. Though it's very similar to the theatrical preview, it's been re-edited to display more of Charlie's awkwardness as he tries to overcome his timid demure and begins for the first time to experience life to the fullest.
The film, written and directed by Stephen Chbosky from his best-selling novel, just today received a WGA nomination for best adapted screenplay. It's a good indication that Chbosky might pick up a surprise Oscar nom when the Academy reveals their nominations next week on Thursday. It will be interesting to see if the film's cast can nab some acting noms too.
