If you loved 2011's virus thriller "Contagion," then you might want to check out the upcoming thriller "Side Effects." Not that the two films are similar in story, it's just both movies come from the same creators: director Steven Soderbergh and screenwriter Scott Z. Burns. And from the looks of this new 60-second trailer, their new film is aiming to turn the world of prescription drugs onto its head.
Here, Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) stars as a young woman suffering from anxiety attacks and seeks the help of a prominent psychologist (Jude Law) who takes the opportunity to prescribe her with a new experimental drug which apparently has given her some mind-boggling side effects that not only includes blurry vision, but maybe some unexpected murderous tendencies. The film, which also features an appearance of a hat-wearing Channing Tatum as Mara's devoted husband, opens in theaters on February 8th.
SIDE EFFECTS is a provocative thriller about Emily and Martin (Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum), a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily's psychiatrist (Jude Law) – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects.
