Earlier in the year we saw director/writer/actor Jason Trost tackling the outrageous story of dancing videogame gangsters in the futuristic indie spoof "The FP." In just a couple of weeks, he makes his return with "All Superheroes Must Die," a new genre movie that's considerably less whimsical, but just as ballsy. Debuting on Video-On-Demand on January 1st, the movie (formerly known as "VS") sees Trost as one of four costumed heroes who've been kidnapped and held captive by the maniacal villain, Rickshaw (played by Dexter's James Remar). Stripped of their superpowers, the masked group is forced to participate in a twisted game, in order to save their beloved city from destruction.
Also starring Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class), Sophie Merkley, and Sean Whalen, "All Superheroes Must Die" was written and directed by Trost -- his first solo effort without the help of his filmmaking brother, Brandon. In addition to its VOD release, the film will have a small theatrical run on January 4th, followed by a Blu-Ray release on January 29th.
Four masked avengers find themselves stripped of their powers by a cruel arch-nemesis they defeated years earlier .. or so they thought. When the sinister mastermind puts the heroes through a series of brutal challenges that are virtually impossible to overcome, they must battle the clock -- and even each other -- in a race to stop a deadly countdown that could mean total destruction.
