The Incredible Burt Wonderstone — Trailer

added: Fri, Dec 21st '12

The last time Steve Carell and Jim Carrey shared the screen together, they played two competing TV news anchors in 2003's blockbuster "Bruce Almighty." A decade later, and these two funnymen are teaming up again, and it looks like things haven't changed much -- well, other than their extravagant outfits.

In the debut trailer for the wacky, magician comedy "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone," Carell and Carrey play two rival Las Vegas tricksters in a heated competition for relevancy. When Burt Wonderstone (Carrell), a world-renowned illusionist, sees his famous magic act fall out of fashion due to the arrival of a flavor-of-the-month street performer named Steve Gray (Carrey), he turns to his loyal magician partner Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) for help on a new attention-grabbing stunt. The problem is, it requires the bumbling duo to be enclosed in a glass box for a week and they're not equipped to handle that kind of intimacy.

Directed by TV-vet Don Scardino (30 Rock), "Wonderstone" also stars Olivia Wilde, James Gandolfini, and Alan Arkin. It will hit theaters on March 15th.

Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt's growing ego. But lately the duo's greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they've grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there's still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act -- both onstage and off -- if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.
