You probably never heard his name, but in the late 80s, Jason Becker was a 19-year old heavy-metal guitar god. Sadly, his promising career as a rock musician was cut short due to a devastating diagnosis of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Today, he is confined to a specialized wheelchair, unable to move or speak. But through the help of a computer that reads his eye movements, Jason is communicating again and, surprisingly, is making music for the first-time since his days as a metal guitarist. Watch his inspirational life story in this trailer for the new documentary "Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet," from director Jesse Vile.
The movie is slated to hit theaters in a few weeks, starting in NY, SF, and Portland on December 14th. Other cities to follow, details here.
