You probably never heard his name, but in the late 80s, Jason Becker was a 19-year old heavy-metal guitar god. Sadly, his promising career as a rock musician was cut short due to a devastating diagnosis of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Today, he is confined to a specialized wheelchair, unable to move or speak. But through the help of a computer that reads his eye movements, Jason is communicating again and, surprisingly, is making music for the first-time since his days as a metal guitarist. Watch his inspirational life story in this trailer for the new documentary "Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet," from director Jesse Vile.

The movie is slated to hit theaters in a few weeks, starting in NY, SF, and Portland on December 14th. Other cities to follow, details here.

When doctors diagnosed 19-year-old rock star Jason Becker with Lou Gehrig's Disease, they said he would never make music again and that he wouldn't live to see his 25th birthday. 22 years later, without the ability to move or to speak, Jason is alive and making music with his eyes. JASON BECKER: NOT DEAD YET is a feature-length documentary film that tells the incredible story of a guitar legend who refuses to give up on his dream of being a musician despite the most incredible odds. It is a story of dreams, love, and the strength of the human spirit.
