Though she might be saying goodbye to the Twilight franchise this week, it won't be too long until Kristen Stewart is back in theaters with the new film "On the Road." However, don't expect to see her frolicking around with vampires and werewolves. If this freshly-released final trailer is any indication, prepare yourself to see Stewart dancing wildly to jazzy tunes with a bunch of sweaty beatniks and whiskey-drinking bohemians. Which kinda makes sense, since the film is director Walter Salles' big-screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac's seminal Beat Generation novel.
Stewart joins Tron Legacy's Garrett Hedlund and English actor Sam Riley as three starry-eyed mavericks (a writer, an ex-con and his 16-year old bride) traveling across America, while encountering some charismatic characters, including a pistol-wielding Viggo Mortensen, a martini-sipping Amy Adams and a jilted Kirsten Dunst. Elisabeth Moss, Steve Buscemi, Terrence Howard and Alice Braga will be making cameos as well.
"On the Road" will open in NY and LA on December 21st, before it expands in January.
After the death of his father, Sal Paradise (Sam Riley), an aspiring New York writer, meets Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund), a wild and infectiously charismatic ex-con. They hit it off immediately. Determined to avoid the pitfalls of a narrow, prescribed life, Sal hits the road, joining Dean on what evolves into a life-changing physical and emotional odyssey. Thirsting for freedom, they discover the world, the ecstasy of experience, the connectedness of humanity and ultimately themselves.
