The Host — Full-Length Trailer

added: Tue, Nov 13th '12

Okay, the final conclusion of The Twilight Saga hits theaters this Friday. But that doesn't mean it's the end of Stephenie Meyer's reign in movies. No siree, Bob! Stephenie Meyer's bestselling alien invasion book "The Host" has been adapted for the big-screen, and now we actually get to see some footage from the film. Check out the full-length trailer, which unlike the previously-released teaser trailer, gives us a good look at Saoirse Ronan as Melanie Stryder, the story's main hero. Plus they're some great glimpses of co-stars Diane Kruger, Max Irons and William Hurt.

Directed and adapted by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, In Time), the film follows Melanie (Ronan), a human girl whose body is overtaken by a soul-sucking parasitic alien known as "Wanda." But when some of Melanie's soul is still left intact, Wanda gets emotionally connected with Melanie's memories, resulting in a journey to reunite with Melanie's lost love (played by Irons).

"The Host" will open in theaters on March 29, 2013.

From Stephenie Meyer (author of The Twilight Saga) comes The Host, a love story set in the future, where Earth is occupied by a species who erase the minds of their human hosts, leaving their bodies intact. Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) is one of the last surviving humans who fights back, risking her life for the people she cares about most -- Jared (Max Irons), Ian (Jake Abel), her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and her Uncle Jeb (William Hurt) -- proving that love can conquer all.
