A new full-length international trailer for Tom Hooper's big-screen adaptation of "Les Miserables" is out. And for the most part, it's about what you'd expect -- boisterous songs, a ton of 19th-century costumes, the French army about to start a fight, and a short-haired Anne Hathaway looking quite gloomy as the "I Dreamed a Dream" Fantine. But there's also plenty of new scenes to go "ooh" and "aah" over. Check out Hugh Jackman as the running-from-the-law good guy, Jean Valjean, Amanda Seyfried as the foolishly-in-love Cosette and Russell Crowe as the-relentless-policeman Javert. Plus we get a better look at The Thenardiers, the villainous working-class laborers played by Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen. Ah, now, in the key of C -- "Lez Miz out in theaters December 25ttthhhh!"
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption -- a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Hugh Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Russell Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Anne Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
