If you missed her strutting on the catwalk, perhaps you spotted Russian-born runway model Sasha Luss kicking butt in Luc Besson's action-packed assassin flick "Anna" from 2019. It's been getting some love on Netflix again these days, making a comeback about a month ago. Which is good timing, as it seems Sasha Luss is also making a comeback of sorts, starring in the new techno thriller "Latency," for which an official trailer has been released.

In the film, Luss stars as Hana, a professional video game tester grappling with acute agoraphobia. Assigned to test a cutting-edge VR headset, Hana encounters an unexpectedly immersive experience. The AI-driven system, designed to sync with the player's brain activity, blurs the lines between reality and the game world. As Hana delves deeper into the virtual landscape, her paranoia intensifies, leaving her unsure of what is genuine and what is a product of the game.

The upcoming thriller, written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker James Croke, marks his directorial debut following his work as a production designer on various short films.

In addition to Sasha Luss, model-turned-actress Alexis Ren co-stars in the film as Hana's best friend and roommate.

"Latency" is being released in theaters on June 14th with VOD release to follow shortly. In the meantime, you can check out the film's trailer above for a sneak peek.

synopsis:
When Hana (Sasha Luss), a professional gamer who suffers from acute agoraphobia, is asked to trial sophisticated new gaming equipment which uses AI to interpret the electrical activity of her brain, she sees an opportunity to enhance her game. As Hana and her best friend Jen (Alexis Ren) experiment with this new technology, the line between reality and Hana’s subconscious quickly begins to blur and she starts to wonder if the device is helping her or serving a more sinister force.
