Picture "The Sopranos," but told through the lens of all the women within the family. The household fights, the increasingly intense suspicion, and the realization of being in a mob-connected family. That's the basic idea behind "Fresh Kills," which marks the directorial debut of actress Jennifer Esposito, known for her roles in TV series like "Blue Bloods" and "Spin City."

Esposito takes on multiple roles in "Fresh Kills," serving as writer, director, producer, and co-star in this new mob family drama. The story unfolds through the perspectives of the women in a Staten Island family, led by a patriarch who is secretly a mafia kingpin.

Take a look at the official trailer for the upcoming film set in the 1980s, starring Emily Bader (from "Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin") and Odessa A'zion (from 2022's "Hellraiser") as Rose and Connie Larusso, two sisters raised in an Italian American household. They quickly discover that their father, portrayed by Domenick Lombardozzi (seen in "Reacher" and "Tulsa King"), is a ruthless mob boss, despite his facade as a family-oriented man.

Esposito takes on the role of the girls' mother, with Annabella Sciorra (known for "Cop Land," "Jungle Fever," and "The Sopranos") portraying the girls' aunt, who happens to be Esposito's sister.

"Fresh Kills" is slated for theatrical release on June 14th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
In her debut as a writer-director, actress Jennifer Esposito (Blue Bloods, Summer Of Sam, Crash) brings late 1980s Staten Island to vivid life through the lens of Rose Larusso (Emily Bader), an inquisitive young girl who discovers her father (Domenick Lombardozzi) is an emerging mafia kingpin. Rose's growing desire to break free from the path set before her soon threatens her existence and alienates her from her closest allies: her mother Francine (Esposito), her sister Connie (Odessa A'zion), and her aunt Christine (Annabella Sciorra).
