Travel back in time to the cocaine-fueled era of Miami's disco and drug scene, where drug lords mingled with A-list celebrities, and violence took a backseat to the non-stop party atmosphere. Now step inside the Mutiny Hotel, affectionately dubbed "Casablanca on cocaine," where the world's most notorious figures mingled with the world's biggest stars. This sets the backdrop for the new crime series from the producers of "Narcos" and "Godfather of Harlem."

Check out the official trailer for "Hotel Cocaine," a new original series set to debut next month on the streaming platform MGM Plus. It stars Danny Pino, known for his roles in "Cold Case" and "Mayans M.C.," as Roman Compte, a Cuban exile and the general manager of Miami's iconic locale, The Mutiny Hotel. Transformed into the city's most happening nightclub, it becomes a playground for the rich, the famous, and the notorious.

The series, executive produced by Chris Brancato (co-creator of "Narcos" and "Godfather of Harlem"), also features Emmy-Award-winning "The Shield" actor Michael Chiklis as a DEA agent, while Cuban-American actor Yul Vazquez (Severance) portrays Nestor Cabal, Miami's primary cocaine supplier who also happens to be Roman's older brother.

Oscar-winning cinematographer Guillermo Navarro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy) directs the majority of the eight-episode series, which explores the themes of family, brotherhood, and the corruption of the American Dream.

"Hotel Cocaine" is set to debut on MGM Plus on June 16th.

synopsis:
HOTEL COCAINE is the story of Roman Compte, a Cuban exile and general manager of The Mutiny Hotel, the glamorous epicenter of the Miami cocaine scene of late '70s and early '80s. The Mutiny Hotel was Casablanca on cocaine. Businessmen, politicians, international narcos, CIA and FBI agents, models, sports stars, and musicians all frequented the hotel and its glitzy nightclub and restaurant. At the center of it all was Compte, who did his best to keep it all going and fulfill his own American dream. Over the course of the season, Roman Compte (played by Danny Pino) walks the tightrope between the DEA, who have his daughter's fate in their hands, and his older brother Nestor Cabal (Yul Vazquez), Miami's biggest supplier of cocaine. Together, the pair face ruthless rival Colombian cocaine suppliers as the brothers ensure their drug domination in Miami and keep their families safe. HOTEL COCAINE is a meditation on family, brotherhood, the American Dream and the American nightmare, and what we will do to survive and protect the people we love.
