Academy Award winner Kate Winslet trades glamour for army gear as she steps into the role of war photographer Lee Miller in this hotly anticipated historical biopic, "Lee." An official teaser trailer has been released, giving a glimpse into Winslet's transformation.

In "Lee," Winslett embodies the remarkable American photojournalist, delving into her journey from a fashion artist to war correspondent. The film shines a spotlight on Lee Miller's life and career as a trailblazing female photographer, tracing her path from a fashion model and surrealist artist to becoming a renowned photographer in the 1920s and '30s. Yet, when World War II erupted, Lee redirected her attention, transitioning into a magazine war photographer. She embedded herself with troops, capturing haunting images of horrific battles and documenting the stark realities of Nazi concentration camps. Miller, renowned for immortalizing some of the war's most iconic moments through her lens, is also celebrated for a defiant act: capturing a self-portrait of herself while bathing in Hitler's private bathtub on the day of his demise.

Directed by award-winning cinematographer Ellen Kuras in her feature directorial debut, "Lee" showcases Miller's extraordinary life and contributions. Kuras's notable cinematography credits include collaborations with Spike Lee's "Summer of Sam" (1999), "Bamboozled" (2000), Ted Demme's "Blow" (2001), and Michel Gondry's "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (2004) and "Be Kind Rewind" (2008).

Winslet leads a stellar ensemble cast, joined by Andy Samberg who plays fellow American war photojournalist David E. Scherman. Other cast members include Marion Cotillard, Josh O'Connor, Andrea Riseborough, Alexander Skarsgard, Noemie Merlant, and Enrique Arce.

"Lee" is set to make its theatrical release on September 27th. Be sure to catch the teaser trailer for a sneak peek into this forthcoming biopic, which could potentially earn Winslet some award recognition by year's end.

synopsis:
LEE, the directorial feature from award-winning Cinematographer Ellen Kuras, portrays a pivotal decade in the life of American war correspondent and photographer, Lee Miller (Kate Winslett). Miller's singular talent and unbridled tenacity resulted in some of the 20th century's most indelible images of war, including an iconic photo of Miller herself, posing defiantly in Hitler's private bathtub.

Miller had a profound understanding and empathy for women and the voiceless victims of war. Her images display both the fragility and ferocity of the human experience. Above all, the film shows how Miller lived her life at full-throttle in pursuit of truth, for which she paid a huge personal price, forcing her to confront a traumatic and deeply buried secret from her childhood.
