20th Century Studios has released the official final trailer for "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," the fourth chapter in the rebooted franchise following the 2017 hit, "War for the Planet of the Apes."

Set a generation after the reign and demise of Caesar, the film unfolds in a world where apes reign supreme and humans are relegated to a subservient existence, reverting to primal ways.

Owen Teague ("IT Chapter 1 and 2") delivers a motion-capture performance as Noa, a young and idealistic chimpanzee charged with safeguarding Mae, a human woman portrayed by British actress Freya Allan of "The Witcher" fame. Mae stands apart with her remarkable intellect, possessing the rare ability to communicate. She holds the key to a long-forgotten history that once intertwined the fates of humans and apes.

Directed by Wes Ball, acclaimed for helming the "Maze Runner" trilogy, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" introduces a fresh perspective to the franchise, taking the helm from Matt Reeves. The film revisits the series' core themes of oppression, supremacy, and rebellion, returning to the central concept of a world ruled by apes.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Peter Macon, Eka Darville, Kevin Durand, Neil Sandilands, Dichen Lachman, and William H. Macy, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" is set to hit theaters on May 10th.
