Little more than a year ago, just after Jeremy Renner experienced a near-death accident involving his snowplow, there was a question if Renner would be physically able to return not only to acting but also to do another season of "Mayor of Kingstown." Well, those worries have now been put to rest, as Renner is not only back for the third season of the Paramount Plus original series but appears to be as sharp as ever.

Check out the official trailer for Season 3 of "Mayor of Kingstown," the crime thriller series where Renner stars as Mike McClusky, a former prison shot-caller who navigates the streets of Kingstown, Michigan, as a mediator between the corrupt police force and the criminal syndicate controlling both inside prison and out.

The series is co-created by "Yellowstone" co-creator Taylor Sheridan and the show's co-star Hugh Dillon. It explores the pervasive corruption in state and city politics, set against the backdrop of a Michigan town reliant on a privately operated state prison. Acclaimed filmmaker Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day") serves as an executive producer.

In addition to Renner and Dillon, the cast of Season 3 includes Dianne Wiest, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Michael Beach, Emma Laird, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Necar Zadegan. Veteran character actor Richard Brake joins the cast as the menacing convict Merle Callahan, a formidable presence capable of either escalating or quelling the ongoing gang warfare.

"Mayor of Kingstown: Season 3" is slated to premiere on June 2nd exclusively on Paramount Plus.

synopsis:
From Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family - power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
