Icelandic actor Egill Ólafsson portrays Kristofer, a retiree grappling with a grim diagnosis, who sets out to address some unfinished business. While reminiscing about his life, Kristófer embarks on an emotional journey to locate his first love, a young Japanese woman he crossed paths with 50 years ago in London while undergoing chef training at a Japanese family restaurant. His pursuit takes him to Japan as he attempts to retrace her path.

In flashback sequences, Palmi Kormakur portrays the young Kristofer, while Japanese model Koki plays the Japanese woman who captured Kristofer's heart.

Baltasar Kormakur both writes and directs the film. Kormakur is known for helming gripping dramas like the mountain survival epic "Everest" and action crime thrillers such as "2 Guns" and "Contraband." "Touch" marks Kormakur's return to Icelandic cinema after his acclaimed Icelandic films "The Oath" (2016) and "The Deep" (2012).
