What's a family man's greatest nightmare? Perhaps finding himself stuck inside a concert stadium surrounded by hordes of screaming children. But for suspense master M. Night Shyamalan, the ultimate terror is finding oneself trapped at a pop star show, only to discover that law enforcement is hunting down a cunning serial killer.

Check out the first official trailer for "Trap," the new horror suspense thriller from the mind of writer-director M. Night Shyamalan, of "The Sixth Sense," "Split," and "Knock at the Cabin" fame.

The film stars Josh Hartnett ("Oppenheimer," "Penny Dreadful") as a father who is chaperoning his preteen daughter as they attend a packed pop concert teeming with shrieking fans, only to realize it's all a setup. It's an elaborate ploy orchestrated by the police to ensnare a notorious serial killer dubbed "the Butcher." But here's the twist: Hartnett isn't just playing the devoted dad -- he's also secretly the killer himself.

With performances by pop singer Saleka Shyamalan (M. Night's real-life daughter) as Lady Raven, and co-starring Ariel Donoghue, Hayley Mills, and Allison Pill, "Trap" is slated to hit theaters on August 9th. In the meantime, watch the trailer above.
