Glen Powell turns on the charm as he rocks various personas in the official full-length trailer for the upcoming crime comedy "Hit Man."

In this new Netflix film, Powell showcases his versatility by portraying a professional contract killer who unexpectedly finds himself smitten with a potential client, portrayed by Adria Arjona of the Star Wars series "Andor." But here's the kicker: Powell's character is actually an ordinary, mild-mannered professor who moonlights as a "fake hit man" for undercover police operations. He seamlessly slips into various personas as hit men, each alter ego vastly different from his own timid demeanor.

During an undercover assignment, Powell crosses paths with a beautiful woman (Arjona), who may be in the market for someone to off her husband. Sparks fly between them. But just as things heat up, the case gets shelved before sufficient evidence is gathered. When the woman's husband turns up dead later, the spotlight lands back on her. Powell's phony hitman persona must now navigate a situation where he is both in danger and in love.

Ever since its premiere at the Venice Film Festival and later at Sundance, "Hit Man" has been generating considerable buzz, particularly for the dynamic partnership between star Glen Powell and director Richard Linklater. This marks their fourth collaboration, following the underrated animated gem "Apollo 10 1⁄2: A Space Age Childhood" (2022), the college baseball comedy "Everybody Wants Some!!" (2016), and Powell's minor role in "Fast Food Nation" (2006).

Powell and Linklater also share the writing credits for "Hit Man," inspired by a bizarre true story featured in a 2001 Texas Monthly article by journalist Skip Hollandsworth.

The cast also includes Austin Amelio, Retta, Molly Bernard, Mike Markoff, and Gralen Bryant Banks. Catch "Hit Man" in select theaters starting May 24th, followed by its Netflix debut on June 7th.
