In the official U.S. trailer for the new Irish drama "Aisha," Letitia Wright finds herself grappling with the callous bureaucracy of Ireland's immigration system, facing an uphill battle against its unforgiving obstacles.

In this upcoming drama, Letitia Wright, of "Black Panther" fame, takes on the title role of a young Nigerian woman who seeks asylum in Ireland. However, her path is fraught with challenges as she encounters constant pushbacks and bureaucratic hurdles, all while facing the looming threat of deportation.

Josh O'Connor, from "The Crown" and the recent arthouse film "La chimera," co-stars as Conor in the film. Conor works as a security guard at a residence for asylum seekers and forms an unexpected friendship with Letitia Wright's character, Aisha. As Aisha navigates the challenges of her immigration status in Ireland, Conor provides support amidst the frustrating events she faces.

While exploring immigration issues abroad, "Aisha" is written and directed by Irish filmmaker Frank Berry. Berry is known for his work in creating acclaimed social realist dramas, including the 2014 Irish coming-of-age film "I Used to Live Here" and the 2017 Irish prison drama "Michael Inside."

"Aisha" is set to make its U.S. debut next month, hitting theaters and VOD platforms on May 10th.
