James McAvoy stars as a seemingly ordinary family man who gradually unveils his true, unsettling nature in the upcoming psychological horror thriller "Speak No Evil." Check out the newly released official trailer, giving you a glimpse of McAvoy's bone-chilling performance as perhaps the worst vacation friend ever!

In this new English-language remake of the 2022 Danish horror hit, James McAvoy ("Split," the "X-Men" franchise) joins forces with Mackenzie Davis ("Terminator: Dark Fate"), Scoot McNairy ("Argo"), and Aisling Franciosi ("The Last Voyage of the Demeter") as two pairs of couples who unexpectedly befriend each other during a vacation outing. But when the two couples decide to reunite for a friendly weekend retreat at a picturesque country farmhouse, they quickly realize they have little in common. In fact, McAvoy's character might be teetering on the brink of insanity, while his mute son's condition could be attributed to his strict and uncaring parenting methods.

British filmmaker James Watkins takes the helm as both writer and director of the upcoming horror thriller remake. Watkins is known for directing the 2012 Gothic supernatural thriller "The Woman in Black" and his 2008 cult horror thriller "Eden Lake."

Produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, "Speak No Evil" is scheduled to open in theaters on September 13th.

synopsis:
When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream holiday soon warps into a snarled psychological nightmare. From Blumhouse, the producer of The Black Phone, Get Out and The Invisible Man, comes an intense suspense thriller for our modern age, starring BAFTA award-winner James McAvoy in a riveting performance as the charismatic, alpha-male estate owner whose untrammeled hospitality masks an unspeakable darkness.

SPEAK NO EVIL stars Mackenzie Davis and SAG award-winner Scoot McNairy as American couple Louise and Ben Dalton, who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes (Alix West Lefler), accept the weekend-holiday invitation of Paddy (McAvoy), his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi) and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Daniel Hough). The film is based on the 2022 Danish horror sensation by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup.
