A high school teacher moves to a sleepy North Dakota town, looking to reignite old memories and begin anew in the upcoming small-town comedy "Downtown Owl," starring Lily Rabe, known for FX's "American Horror Story" and HBO's "Love & Death."

Also starring Henry Golding, Vanessa Hudgens, Ed Harris, Finn Wittrock, and Jack Dylan Grazer, the film marks the directorial debut of Lily Rabe. She co-directs with her real-life long-term partner, actor Hamish Linklater, who is also making his directorial debut. Linklater also wrote the screenplay and appears in the film.

In "Downtown Owl," Rabe portrays Julia, a high school teacher who leaves behind her cosmopolitan life in Milwaukee to accept a temporary teaching position at a small town in North Dakota. As Julia aims to adapt to her new small-town environment, she discovers herself slipping back into the rhythms of her high school days, yearning to fit in and eventually finding a super cool guy to date. Enter: Henry Golding ("Crazy Rich Asians") as Vance Druid, a dashing local cowboy who catches Julia's eye with his smoldering presence.

Exploring themes of fresh starts and adapting to unfamiliar surroundings, the film is an adaptation of writer Chuck Klosterman's 2008 novel of the same name.

"Downtown Owl" is set to premiere on VOD and Digital platforms starting April 23rd.

Searching for a break from her cosmopolitan life in Milwaukee, Julia Rabia (Lily Rabe), arrives in the close knit Reagan-era town of Owl, North Dakota for a one-semester high school teaching job. But when the small town turns out to be a wonderland of second-string poets, smoldering Marlboro Men, and a social hierarchy that echoes high school, Julia doesn't know if she's come to town to get away from home or to find it.
