added: Thu, Mar 21st '24

The highly anticipated second season of "House of the Dragon" is set to premiere in June, and true to the classic "Game of Thrones" formula, it promises another intense conflict for the throne among family members. However, this time, the battleground is dominated by giant, fire-breathing dragons! So, one must consider the question: what value does an empire have if it's reduced to mere ashes?

Here's the official full trailer for Season 2 of HBO's hit "Game of Thrones" prequel-spinoff series, "House of the Dragon," based on George R.R. Martin's 2018 novel "Fire & Blood," which explores the rich history of House Targaryen, particularly focusing on the Targaryen civil war.

The new season sees Emma D'Arcy reprising her role as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, while Olivia Cooke returns as Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower. Once childhood friends, they now find themselves on opposite sides of a bitter Targaryen civil war, each vying for control of the throne. However, the stakes extend beyond mere succession; it's now a battle for survival, where the question isn't just about who is worthy of the throne, but who will endure long enough to even have a chance at claiming it.

Also returning to the cast are Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, Rhys Ifans as Ser Otto Hightower, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Ewan Mitchell as Prince Aemond Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney as King Aegon II Targaryen, Phoebe Campbell as Lady Rhaena Targaryen, and many more.

"House of the Dragon" is executive produced by franchise creator George R.R. Martin and screenwriter Ryan Condal. Season 2 is expected to launch on June 16th, exclusively on HBO and MAX.
