Sure, it's possible that "your eyes can deceive you," but that doesn't make it any less true that the first official trailer for "The Acolyte" has arrived. Take a peek at the first glimpses of the new, forthcoming live-action "Star Wars" series set to premiere in June.

Taking place in the era of the High Republic, roughly two centuries prior to "Episode I: The Phantom Menace," the Disney original series introduces audiences to a new chapter in the "Star Wars" saga. Here, the Jedi Order is at its zenith, yet beneath the surface, a sinister force is stirring. The dark side is gaining traction, and a series of unresolved murders of Jedi Masters triggers an investigation, unveiling a shifting landscape of power.

Created by showrunner Leslye Headland, known as the co-creator of Netflix's "Russian Doll" and also for writing and directing the dark romantic comedy "Sleeping with Other People," "The Acolyte" boasts a strong ensemble cast. Led by Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies, The Hate U Give), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Films), Manny Jacinto (NBC's The Good Place), Dafne Keen (Logan, His Dark Materials), and Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), the series also sees Chewbacca performer Joonas Suotamo embodying another Wookiee character, this time a Wookiee Jedi master named Kelnacca.

"The Acolyte" will kick off with a two-episode premiere on June 4th, exclusively on Disney Plus. Following the premiere, new episodes will be released weekly.
