Chris Pine channels his inner Lebowski in the official teaser for "Poolman." Pine portrays a laid-back, carefree character in this upcoming comedy, where he not only stars but also makes his directorial debut.
In this offbeat adventure, Pine portrays Darren, a gruff-looking slacker who works as a pool cleaner in Los Angeles. As he goes about his mundane job, Darren unexpectedly finds himself drawn into an investigation that unveils a citywide conspiracy reaching all the way to Los Angeles City Hall.
Alongside Pine, the film boasts a stellar supporting cast including Annette Bening, DeWanda Wise, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Danny DeVito.
Pine also takes on the role of co-writer, collaborating with Ian Gotler on the screenplay. As a passion project, Pine also serves as a producer alongside "Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins and producer Stacey Sher.

POOLMAN tells the story of Darren Barrenman (Chris Pine), a native Los Angeleno who spends his days looking after the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block and fighting to make his hometown a better place to live. When he is tasked by a femme fatale to uncover the truth behind a shady business deal, Darren enlists the help of his friends to take on a corrupt politician and a greedy land developer.
