It's the comic book movie that has ignited a fervent online debate, with some denouncing it as sacrilege while others are brimming with excitement. Now, you can get a closer look and decide for yourself. Here's the first official trailer for "The Crow," a modern reimagining of the original graphic novel by comic book artist James O'Barr.

Bill Skarsgard, known for his roles in "It Chapters 1 and 2," "John Wick: Chapter 4," and "Barbarian," takes on the role of musician Eric Draven, the same character famously portrayed by the late Brandon Lee in the 1994 film. Lee tragically lost his life during the original "Crow" movie's production due to a fatal accident involving a prop gun.

This revamped version is brought to you by English commercial director Rupert Sanders, who previously helmed the films "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Ghost in the Shell." British pop star FKA twigs, who showcased her acting chops in "Honey Boy," portrays Shelly Webster, Eric Draven's beloved fiancee. After Eric and Shelly fall victim to a brutal murder, Eric rises from the grave, driven by vengeance against the gang responsible for their deaths.

"The Crow" marks the fifth installment in the film series, rebooting the 1994 classic and original comic book. The remake has been in the works for quite some time, with numerous actors and directors linked to the project since the early 2010s. Notably, it marks the first time in the franchise's history that the Eric Draven storyline has been revisited, a decision that has sparked significant resistance from fans loyal to Brandon Lee's portrayal of the character.

Co-starring Danny Huston and Isabella Wei, "The Crow" is set to hit theaters on June 7th.
