Check out the official trailer for the uplifting sports drama "The Long Game," starring Jay Hernandez (known for TV's Magnum P.I.) and Dennis Quaid (seen in Lawmen: Bass Reeves and The Hill).

Inspired by real events, the movie tells the story of a group of young Mexican-American men in the 1950s striving to break into the exclusive and segregated world of golf. Jay Hernandez portrays a World War II veteran and golfer who takes on the role of teacher and guide for five Mexican-American caddies. Together, they aim to defy the odds and compete for victory in the 1957 Texas State High School Golf Championship against affluent all-white teams.

Joining Hernandez and Quaid are Julian Works, Jaina Lee Ortiz, Oscar Nunez, and Cheech Marin.

Based on Humberto G. Garcia's memoir "Mustang Miracle," the film is directed and co-written by filmmaker Julio Quintana, who previously directed Netflix's heartwarming fishing drama "Blue Miracle," also featuring Dennis Quaid.

"The Long Game" tees off in theaters on April 12th. Watch the trailer, above.
