If you're into horror movies, well, here's something exciting that's shaking up the found footage genre and promises to deliver a fresh take on it. Here's the pitch: An unearthed tape recording of a forgotten late-night talk show from the 1970s surfaces. However, as it's viewed, there's an unsettling feeling that something isn't quite right about this airing. Perhaps there's a sinister reason why this tape was lost in obscurity. And maybe there was a good reason that it should have been kept buried.

You now have a sense of what to expect from the upcoming horror thriller "Late Night with the Devil," starring David Dastmalchian ("The Suicide Squad" and "Oppenheimer") as Jack Delroy, a 1970s talk show host whose world turns upside down while filming a special late-night Halloween episode. While he navigates through chaos, the show's episode features guests from the darkest corners of the paranormal, including a parapsychologist, a magician, a psychic, and a cult survivor.

The film, which has the good fortune of having the public endorsement from horror maestro Stephen King who called it "Absolutely brilliant ... I couldn't take my eyes off it," is presented as a rediscovered tape containing a lost recording of the 1977 talk show titled "Night Owls with Jack Delroy." The movie captures a live television broadcast, where viewers find themselves unwilling participants in an unsettling endeavor to "commune with the devil."

In addition to Dastmalchian, the cast includes Laura Gordon, Ian Bliss, Fayssal Bazzi, Ingrid Torelli, Rhys Auteri, Georgina Haig, and Josh Quong Tart.

"Late Night with the Devil" is written, directed, and edited by Australian siblings Colin & Cameron Cairnes with Dastmalchian serving as an executive producer. The film opens in theaters on March 22nd, with a streaming release on the horror platform Shudder on April 19th. Watch the newly released full-length trailer above.
