After the tumultuous ride of "Madame Web," Dakota Johnson will be returning to a pace more akin to her usual style. She takes on the role of a cab-riding New Yorker who unexpectedly engages in deep and meaningful conversations with her cabbie, played by none other than Sean Penn.

Check out the official teaser trailer for "Daddio," a new two-person conversational indie drama set against the vibrant backdrop of New York City, where unexpected connections unfold amidst a cab ride.

Sean Penn, who underwent a remarkable transformation with heavy prosthetic make-up for his role in last year's Watergate scandal drama miniseries "Gaslit," appears more like himself in this film. He portrays a seasoned cab driver with a seemingly magical ability for coaxing his passengers into divulging their most intimate stories. One such passenger is a young woman (played by Dakota Johnson) fresh from JFK airport and bound for Manhattan. Before she realizes it, she's divulging her most intimate details to the cabbie. Their unlikely connection blossoms during this unforgettable cab ride filled with genuine honesty and empathy.

"Daddio" marks the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Christy Hall, who helms both the writing and directing duties. Hall is recognized for co-creating the acclaimed Netflix coming-of-age series "I Am Not Okay with This," adapted from Charles Forsman's graphic novel. Additionally, she contributed to the writing of several episodes of the short-lived series, which unfortunately only lasted one season.
