Oscar-winner Anna Paquin takes on the role of a mother yearning for redemption in this poignant British drama, where she collaborates with her real-life actor husband Stephen Moyer ("True Blood"), who directs the film.

In the newly released official trailer for "A Bit of Light," Paquin portrays Ella, a woman navigating emotional turmoil as she moves back in with her father, portrayed here by veteran British character actor Ray Winstone. Having relinquished custody of her daughters to her ex-husband and his new partner, Ella finds herself at a crossroads, grappling with self-doubt and uncertainty about reclaiming her children. However, an unexpected bond forms between Ella and a mysterious local teenage boy, played by newcomer Luca Hogan, igniting a journey of self-discovery and newfound courage.

Co-starring Pippa Bennett-Warner and Youssef Kerkour, "A Bit of Light" is brought to life by actor-director Stephen Moyer, known for his acting and directing work on "True Blood," where he first met and married Paquin. Moyer also directed episodes of Paquin's 2020 series "Flack" and previously collaborated with her on the 2018 indie drama "The Parting Glass." Currently, Moyer is balancing directing duties with his role in the Paramount Plus original series "Sexy Beast," a prequel to the 2000 film that starred Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley.

Written by Rebecca Callard, "A Bit of Light" is set for release in theaters and on VOD platforms on April 5th.
