"Stranger Things" star Millie Bobby Brown defies the traditional "damsel in distress" trope, embodying a resilient and empowered female warrior in Netflix's new fairytale action film, as revealed in the new official full-length trailer.

In "Damsel," Brown takes on the role of Elodie, a young woman who, upon agreeing to marry a charming prince, uncovers a deceitful scheme. She realizes she's been set up to fulfill an ancient debt by being sacrificed to a colossal fire-breathing dragon in a cavernous mountain. However, Elodie refuses to succumb without a fight. Armed with a sword, she bravely scales the cave walls in a daring attempt to free herself. But the looming question remains: if the dragon doesn't claim its damsel, what fate awaits the kingdom?

Backing Millie Bobby Brown is an impressive ensemble cast featuring Angela Bassett as Elodie's stepmother, Lady Bayford; Nick Robinson as Elodie's betrothed, Prince Henry; and Ray Winstone and Robin Wright as Henry's royal parents, King and Queen Isabelle.

Steering this dark fantasy tale is Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, known for his work on thrillers like "28 Weeks Later" and "Intacto." The screenplay is penned by Dan Mazeau, whose writing credits include "Wrath of the Titans" and "Fast X."

"Damsel" is slated to debut exclusively on Netflix on March 8th, offering audiences a blend of dark fantasy, swordplay, and dragon-fueled chaos. Watch the full trailer, above.
