If you were a fan of Nickelodeon's children's programming during the late 1990s and early 2000s, chances are you were immersed in the works of Dan Schneider, a prominent producer-writer for the network. Among his notable works are beloved shows such as "iCarly," "Drake & Josh," "Victorious," "Zoey 101," and many more. While these series catapulted talented young actors to fame, the era was not without its challenges. Allegations of abusive behavior and a toxic workplace environment have long surrounded Schneider, who parted ways with Nickelodeon in 2022 after a 25-year collaboration.

Now, Investigation Discovery presents a new docuseries titled "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," shedding light on the accusations against Schneider. The four-part docuseries features testimonies from former employees, alleging that he was a manipulative figure who mistreated those around him, including child actors. Directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz, "Quiet on Set" is set to debut over two nights, premiering exclusively on Investigation Discovery (ID) on Sunday, March 17th and Monday, March 18th. In the meantime, the official trailer offers a glimpse into what viewers can expect.

synopsis:
QUIET ON SET: THE DARK SIDE OF KIDS TV pulls back the curtain on an empire, built by creator Dan Schneider, that had an undeniable grip on popular culture. Series such as All That and The Amanda Show, among others, were obsessively consumed by children across the country and defined comedy for a generation. But behind the upbeat onscreen presence on these shows with questionable jokes and over-the-top sketches, QUIET ON SET reveals an insidious environment rife with allegations of abuse, sexism, racism, and inappropriate dynamics with its underage stars and crew.
