Following its Sundance premiere in January, "Love Lies Bleeding," a new Las Vegas thriller blending elements of crime and romance, is generating considerable amount of buzz, particularly for its two leads, Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian. They play a lesbian couple, with one being a lowly Vegas gym manager and the other a rising bodybuilder from Oklahoma. Together, they become embroiled in a violent confrontation with a ruthless gunrunner, all set against the lively, neon backdrop of Las Vegas.
The upcoming film marks the sophomore effort from rising British filmmaker Rose Glass, known for the horror thriller "Saint Maud," and viewers can get another taste of what's to come by watching this new official trailer, above.
In "Love Lies Bleeding," Stewart portrays Lou, an easygoing gym manager who forms a close bond with Jackie, a career-driven bodybuilder portrayed by O'Brian (from "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and "The Mandalorian"). Their relationship develops amidst the tough and shadowy world of Las Vegas, entangled with Lou's family involvement in illegal arms dealing and gun trafficking.
Adding to the tension is Ed Harris, who portrays Stewart's estranged father and the mastermind behind the illegal gunrunning operations. The cast also includes Dave Franco, Jena Malone, and Anna Baryshnikov.
Distributed by A24 Films, "Love Lies Bleeding" is set to hit theaters on March 8th.
