Julianne Moore, fresh from her acclaimed performance in Todd Haynes' "May December," is now gracing a new miniseries with her remarkable talent. In this series, she assumes the role of an equally complex woman who manipulates a younger man for her own purposes.

Here's the official full-length trailer for "Mary & George," the new historical drama series from STARZ. Moore takes on the role of the infamous royal schemer Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham. She stars alongside Nicholas Galitzine (known for "Red, White & Royal Blue") as Mary's devoted courtier son, George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham. Additionally, Scottish character actor Tony Curran ("Blade II," "Defiance") steps into the role of King James I.

The series is adapted from the historical book "The King's Assassin" by Benjamin Woolley and unravels the sensational true story of Mary Villiers, a social climber who groomed her son, George, from a humble background to become a courtier -- a trusted advisor and companion to the monarch. Mary orchestrated George's rise to the upper echelons of English royal society, where he became one of King James's favored "companions" and engaged in a secret relationship as the King's gay lover. Together, Mary and George conspired in a plot to assassinate the King.

"Mary & George" is created by British writer D. C. Moore (known for "Killing Eve" and "Temple") and boasts a strong supporting cast that includes Laurie Davidson, Nicola Walker, Niamh Algar, Trine Dyrholm, Sean Gilder, and more.

Witness the intrigue, manipulation, and historical drama in this new official trailer. And then make sure to mark your calendars for the debut of "Mary & George" on April 5th, exclusively on the STARZ network.
