Amazon has released the official trailer for "The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy," a new animated space comedy series overseen by showrunner Cirocco Dunlap, known for her writing work on "Russian Doll."

This Amazon animated series boasts an impressive voice cast, with the likes of Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne, Keke Palmer, Stephanie Hsu, Sam Smith, and Kieran Culkin. The show unfolds in a distant galaxy on a space hospital station (apparently, "the second best hospital in the galaxy"), where a team of eccentric alien doctors striving to meet the needs of their patients. Imagine a blend of "E.R.," "M.A.S.H.," and "Star Trek," with a strong dash of "Futurama" humor.

The first season boasts an impressive lineup of guest voice actors, including Tracee Ellis Ross, Bowen Yang, Abbi Jacobson, Jay Ellis, Andrew Dismukes, Lennon Parham, Gary Anthony Williams, and iconic filmmaker John Waters. Adding to the excitement, Kieran Culkin will be joined by his real-life brothers, Macaulay, Rory, Christian, and Shane Culkin.

Artist and animator Robin Eisenberg is co-producing the show, serving as production designer and contributing to the show's unique visual style and aesthetic.

synopsis:
THE SECOND BEST HOSPITAL IN THE GALAXY follows Dr. Sleech and Dr. Klak -- aliens, best friends, and intergalactically renowned surgeons -- as they tackle anxiety-eating parasites, illegal time loops, and deep-space STIs. In Season One, doctors Sleech and Klak take on a highly dangerous and potentially groundbreaking case and, in doing so, put existence itself in jeopardy. Although considering their dismal personal lives, oblivion might be an improvement.
