His name is Dalton! But this time, he's not Patrick Swayze. It's Jake Gyllenhaal!

Gyllenhaal goes through a remarkable physical transformation to become a compact, muscular powerhouse in this modern-day remake of the classic 1989 bare-knuckle action movie "Road House," which originally starred Patrick Swayze.

In upcoming film, Gyllenhaal takes on the role of Dalton, a rugged bouncer and former UFC fighter who accepts a job at a roadhouse bar in the Florida Keys. As in the original film, Dalton's skills are put to the test daily as he deals with a parade of aggressive drunks and idiot locals looking for a fight. There also appears to be a subplot involving a ruthless Florida drug dealer that Dalton must contend with. However, the heart of the movie lies in the barroom brawls where Gyllenhaal emerges as the victor. As Patrick Swayze once said in the original film, "Be nice until it's time to not be nice," and judging from the trailer, there are plenty of times when Gyllenhaal has to not be nice.

Joining Gyllenhaal in the action-packed fun is a pretty impressive supporting cast, including Daniela Melchior ("The Suicide Squad"), Billy Magnussen ("Game Night"), Jessica Williams ("Shrinking"), Darren Barnet ("Never Have I Ever"), J.D. Pardo ("Mayans M.C."), and real-life UFC fighter Conor McGregor.

"Road House" is directed by Doug Liman, known for helming hits like "The Bourne Identity," "Edge of Tomorrow," and "American Made." It's worth noting that Liman is not pleased with the film's release strategy. He plans to boycott the premiere because Amazon intends to release the film directly on streaming, bypassing a traditional theatrical release. After watching the film's newly released official trailer, one can understand why Liman might be frustrated.

Regardless, viewers can anticipate this modern remake of "Road House" to exclusively debut on Prime Video on March 21st. Watch the trailer above.
