Despite its seemingly innocuous title, "Tuesday," Julia Louis-Dreyfus's latest film is not your typical sweet and innocent mother-daughter story. Instead, it delves into the profound themes of grieving and the emotional process of letting go of a loved one. And it could potentially mark a career-redefining performance for Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Check out the first official trailer for "Tuesday," which has been described as a haunting mother-daughter fairy tale. Julia Louis-Dreyfus delivers a seemingly profoundly moving performance as a devoted mother who is coming to terms with the fact that her terminally ill teenage daughter, played by Irish actor Lola Petticrew ("She Said"), will soon enter the final stages of her life. With the heavy burden of this impending loss, both women must grapple with the heart-wrenching idea of saying goodbye to each other.

The fairy tale aspect of the movie is embodied by a large, talking parrot, voiced by Nigerian-British actor Arinze Kene ("I'm Your Woman"), which has the ability to change its size from minuscule to jumbo in an instant. This parrot, seemingly representing Death, arrives at the daughter's bedside with a stark message: "it's time to say goodbye."

"Tuesday" is distributed by A24 Films, known for releasing boundary-pushing and creatively daring movies. And it seems "Tuesday" is no exception. This film serves as the feature directorial debut of Daina Oniunas-Pusic, a London-based writer-director originally from Croatia.

"Tuesday" doesn't have an official release date yet but is set to open in theaters later this year.
