Warner Bros. is making an effort to regain Christopher Nolan's favor, particularly in light of his expected Oscar wins for the Universal film "Oppenheimer." As part of their efforts, the studio plans to re-release Nolan's mind-boggling time-reversal thriller from 2020, "Tenet," in theaters for a limited one-week run in February. Whether this move will successfully re-establish a relationship with Nolan remains uncertain. Though it seems like a positive first step.

Originally released during the heart of the pandemic, "Tenet" featured John David Washington as the "Protagonist" and included strong supporting performances by Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Kenneth Branagh.

The film is set in a world where time can be manipulated in reverse. Washington plays a secret agent introduced to a radical time-altering process known as "inversion." He is assigned an almost impossible mission: preventing a wealthy madman from triggering the end of the world by using the ability to reverse the flow of time. Yes, the movie can leave you scratching your head and stroking your chin for a bit.

"Tenet" was one of the first major studio releases to hit theaters during the pandemic. Its challenging release caused a rift between Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan, who had a long-standing collaboration with the studio throughout his career. Nolan has since partnered with Universal Pictures, resulting in the recent Oscar-nominated blockbuster "Oppenheimer," which is considered the front runner at this year's upcoming Academy Awards.

The re-release of "Tenet" is scheduled to begin on February 23rd for one week only, with screenings available in 70MM and IMAX theaters. In the meantime, you can take a look at this new official re-release trailer, featured above.
