Netflix has released the highly anticipated full-length trailer for "Avatar: The Last Airbender," the live-action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series that garnered immense popularity during its original run from 2005 to 2008.

The original animated series is still revered by many as one of the greatest animated television series of all time and has built a dedicated fan base over the years.

Set in a fantasy world inspired by Asian mysticism, the story unfolds in a realm where four nations, each representing a classical element (water, earth, fire, or air), once coexisted harmoniously. At its core, it follows the journey of a young air-bending Nomad named Aang, whose people are wiped out by the Fire Nation. Aang, along with his new friends Sokka and Katara, embarks on a quest to embrace his destiny as the next Avatar and restore peace to the land.

The live-action adaptation boasts a predominantly Asian and South Asian-American ensemble cast, with newcomer Gordon Cormier ("The Stand") taking on the role of Avatar Aang. Other key cast members include Dallas Liu ("Pen15") as Prince Zuko, Kiawentiio ("Anne with an E") as Katara, and Ian Ousley ("Physical") as Sokka.

It's worth noting that the original creators of the animated series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, departed from the Netflix project due to creative differences after working on a few episodes. Television producer-writer Albert Kim, who initially developed the series for Netflix, was also involved for a time but left due to creative concerns during the production process.

The new executive producers on the show are Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, Michael Goi, and Roseanne Liang, with Goi and Liang taking on directing duties for certain episodes.

Despite the changes behind the scenes, "Avatar: The Last Airbender" remains one of Netflix's most highly anticipated television projects of this year. Fans can look forward to its debut when it premieres on Netflix next month, specifically on February 22nd.
