The verdict is still out on whether Sony's latest Spider-verse film, "Madame Web," will deliver an enjoyable comic book movie experience. We do have our concerns, tho. But there's a chance it could be a fun yet somewhat goofy action film. Yet, there's also the chance that it could veer off course and be seen in a less favorable light. Some rumors about production challenges even suggest it might be a bit of a mess.

Nonetheless, it is what it is. However, here's some encouraging news to hear: the film's tone is expected to have a touch of realism, as suggested by the movie's lead, Dakota Johnson, in this new, recently released behind-the-scenes featurette. (Watch it above.)

"This film ... and the story is different because it's really grounded in reality," Johnson asserts.

In the Sony/Marvel production, Johnson portrays Cassandra Webb, a New York paramedic who, after a near-death experience, gains the ability to see the future. Cassandra becomes intertwined in the mission to protect three young women, played by Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, and Isabela Merced, after having visions of their impending horrific deaths. The antagonist pursuing these women is Ezekiel Sims (played by Tahar Rahim), a menacing supervillain with a striking resemblance to Spider-Man, who also possesses the power of foresight.

The tension in the movie revolves around these three young women being pursued by this mysterious and mighty nemesis, with Cassandra Webb being the only one with the power to withstand him.

Our fingers are crossed, and we're keeping our hopes high for a good outcome. "Madame Web" is set to hit theaters on February 14th, just in time for Valentine's Day.
