Certain families excel at hiding secrets, and it appears that Annette Bening's character in her new project is indeed harboring a significant one from her family.

Bening, who has garnered significant critical acclaim and awards recognition for her leading performance in the Netflix marathon swimming drama "Nyad," is now embarking on a new venture with another streaming service, Peacock.

In the upcoming Peacock original miniseries "Apples Never Fall," Bening takes the helm of a talented ensemble cast, portraying a professional tennis coach whose seemingly perfect family life is thrown into chaos when an old secret resurfaces.

Bening is accompanied by veteran actor Sam Neill, from "Jurassic Park," playing her husband and fellow tennis coach. Their four adult children are portrayed by Jake Lacy ("The White Lotus"), Alison Brie ("GLOW"), Conor Merrigan-Turner ("Thai Cave Rescue"), and Essie Randles ("Speedway").

This new gripping family drama is an adaptation of Liane Moriarty's bestselling novel of the same title, which revolves around the outwardly flawless Delaney family. However, their world is upended when a wounded young woman arrives at their doorstep, and Annette Bening's character mysteriously disappears, compelling her children to reevaluate their parents' supposedly ideal marriage.

"Apples Never Fall" is executive produced and developed by acclaimed television writer-producer Melanie Marnich, known for her work on shows such as "The Affair" and "A Murder at the End of the World." The miniseries is set to premiere exclusively on the Peacock streaming platform on March 14th.

In the meantime, you can watch the recently released teaser for this upcoming miniseries, shown above.

synopsis:
Based on Liane Moriarty's New York Times bestselling novel, APPLES NEVER FALL centers on the seemingly picture-perfect Delaney family. Former tennis coaches Stan (Sam Neill) and Joy (Annette Bening) have sold their successful tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives. While they look forward to spending time with their four adult children (Jake Lacy, Alison Brie, Conor Merrigan-Turner, Essie Randles), everything changes when a wounded young woman knocks on Joy and Stan's door, bringing the excitement they've been missing. But when Joy suddenly disappears, her children are forced to re-examine their parents' so-called perfect marriage as their family's darkest secrets begin to surface.
