"Who is Madame Web?" is the question at the center of this new behind-the-scenes featurette for Sony and Marvel's upcoming comic book movie, "Madame Web," with Dakota Johnson taking on the titular role.

This film, which is part of Sony's Spider-verse film franchise, draws inspiration from the Marvel comic book character Cassandra Webb. In the comics, Madame Web is depicted as an elderly, paralyzed, blind, telepathic, and clairvoyant woman connected to a life support system resembling a spiderweb. However, in this upcoming movie, Madame Web is reimagined as a younger woman, a paramedic working in Manhattan. Her near-death experience grants her the ability to see the future.

Dakota Johnson leads the cast, and she is joined by Tahar Rahim, from "Napoleon" and "The Mauritanian," portraying Ezekiel Sims, an evil supervillain with a menacing resemblance to Spider-Man. Like Cassandra Webb, Ezekiel possesses the power to foresee the future and is determined to eliminate three young women -- Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, and Anya Corazon -- as they are destined to become superheroes, three distinct Spider-Women. Only Madame Web can intervene to save them from this perilous fate.

Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, and Isabela Merced co-star as the three young women destined to become Spider-Women. Meanwhile, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott round out the supporting cast.

The film is directed by SJ Clarkson, an acclaimed British television director known for her work on series such as "Jessica Jones," "The Defenders," "Succession," and "Anatomy of a Scandal."

"Madame Web" is set to swing into theaters on February 14th, just in time for a Valentine's Day.
