In the mid-2000s, there was no pop star bigger than Amy Winehouse. The singer-songwriter skyrocketed to fame, emerging as one of the biggest figures in the music industry. However, her life was marred by personal struggles and a turbulent lifestyle. Tragically, she was taken from us far too soon.

The upcoming biographical musical drama "Back to Black" features English actress Marisa Abela (who currently stars in HBO's financial drama series "Industry") taking on the formidable role of portraying Amy Winehouse. Here's a glimpse of Marisa Abela's performance as Amy Winehouse in this newly-released international teaser trailer.

Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, known for directing the John Lennon biopic "Nowhere Boy" and also the first installment of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy, the movie provides a dramatic portrayal of Amy Winehouse's life and music career. Winehouse was renowned for her chart-topping hits, including "Rehab," "You Know I'm No Good," and "Back to Black."

The cast also includes Jack O'Connell ("Unbroken," "Godless") as Amy's on-and-off boyfriend and eventual husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Additionally, Eddie Marsan, Juliet Cowan, and Lesley Manville are part of the ensemble.

"Back to Black" is set to be released in the U.K. in April, followed by a U.S. release in May. Until then, you can catch a glimpse of Marisa Abela's portrayal of Amy Winehouse in the international teaser trailer, featured above.
