At times, the most compelling science-fiction films are the ones that take a more intimate approach and delve into the depths of the human psyche. That's precisely why "Monolith," a new science-fiction-tinged chamber piece, appears to hold such great promise. Plus, it stars Lily Sullivan, the Australian actress who gained recognition for her role in last year's unexpected horror sensation, "Evil Dead Rise."

Check out the official trailer for "Monolith," a lo-fi conspiracy-laden thriller in which Lily Sullivan portrays an independent investigative journalist going through a career slump. While working on her modest podcast at her family home, she stumbles upon an anonymous email containing cryptic details about a floating brick-shaped object rumored to possess "unknowable power." This discovery leads her down a rabbit hole of enigmatic clues that may hold significant meaning or ultimately prove to be nothing at all.

"Monolith" serves as the debut feature film for director Matt Vesely, with the screenplay written by Lucy Campbell.

Following its positive reception at last year's SXSW Film Festival, "Monolith" is set to hit theaters and become available digitally starting on February 16th.

synopsis:
