Check out the official trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy "Float," starring Andrea Bang (from "Kim's Convenience") and Robbie Amell ("Upload").

The film is adapted from the Wattpad Story by Kate Marchant and revolves around the tale of a young medical student whose carefully laid plans for the future take an unexpected turn when she finds herself unexpectedly falling in love with a small-town lifeguard who came to her rescue at a memorable beach party during a life-changing summer.

The comedy also stars Michelle Krusiec and Andrew Bachelor.

"Float" is directed and co-written by Sherren Lee, a Canadian television director known for her work on shows like "Kim's Convenience," "Run the Burbs," and "Murdoch Mysteries." "Float" marks her debut as a feature film director. Interestingly, Sherren Lee is credited with co-writing the upcoming sci-fi action sequel "Code 8: Part II," featuring Robbie Amell, set to be released later this year on Netflix.

"Float" is set to hit theaters and become available on VOD platforms starting on February 9th.

synopsis:
Waverly (Andrea Bang) thought she had her future figured out. She'd start her medical residency in Toronto after a summer visit to her parents in Taipei. When her plans are suddenly changed, she makes an impulsive detour to a small Canadian town, where she meets local lifeguard Blake (Robbie Amell). After he saves her from nearly drowning at a beach party, Blake offers to teach Waverly to swim, and as the lessons continue, the two unexpectedly find themselves falling in love. But will Blake's ties to his past and Waverly's plans to begin a new job keep them apart once summer ends? Based on the novel by Kate Marchant.
