HBO is bringing back "Tokyo Vice" for a second season, delving even deeper into the mesmerizing criminal underbelly of Tokyo. Check out the official trailer for "Tokyo Vice: Season 2."

Starring Ansel Elgort, Ken Watanabe, Rachel Keller, and Rinko Kikuchi, the HBO series is based on the memoir of the same name by American crime journalist Jake Adelstein, who, during the 1990s, made history as the first non-Japanese staff writer at a major Japanese newspaper while covering the crime beat.

In the series, Elgort plays an heightened rendition of Jake, a young American newspaper journalist originally from Missouri, who relocates to Tokyo. There, he becomes entangled in the gritty subculture of Tokyo's criminal underworld. Ken Watanabe takes on the role of a seasoned Japanese detective who, like Jake, walks the fine line between corruption and principles while carrying out his investigations into the Yakuza syndicate.

Rachel Keller costars as Samantha, an American expatriate residing in Tokyo, while Rinko Kikuchi plays Emi, Jake's supervisor and colleague who stands as one of the rare female journalists in the male-dominated newspaper.

Executive produced by the multiple-award-winning playwright J. T. Rogers (known for "Oslo"), "Tokyo Vice" returns for its second season premiering on April 7th, exclusively on HBO and MAX.
