In the 2000 cult classic crime movie "Sexy Beast," Gal and Don (played by Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley) were two seasoned London gangsters who reconnected in Spain after being apart for years. Now, in this new prequel series for Paramount Plus, Gal and Don are still the closest of friends, relishing the glamorous criminal world of 1990s East London. The specifics of why Gal and Don ended their criminal partnership and the motivations behind Gal's retirement and his move to Spain will likely be explored in this new prequel series, assumingly that's the intention.

Check out the first official trailer for Paramount's upcoming streaming crime drama, "Sexy Beast." In this new series, Scottish actor James McArdle (known for "Mare of Easttown" and "Andor") steps into the role of Gal Dove, the low-profile British gangster originally portrayed by Ray Winstone in the film version. Scottish actor Emun Elliott (recognized for "The Rig" and "The Gold") embodies the character of the menacing psychopath Don Logan, initially portrayed by Ben Kingsley.

The ensemble also includes Sarah Greene (from "Bad Sisters") as Deedee Harrison, an adult film star who eventually becomes Gal's spouse and follows him to Spain, and Stephen Moyer (known for "True Blood") in the role of Teddy Bass, a treacherous London gangster originally played by Ian McShane in the film. Additionally, Tamsin Greig (from "Episodes") portrays Don's excessively controlling sister, Cecilia.

James McArdle (Mare of Easttown, Angels in America) is Gal Dove, and Emun Elliott (The Rig, The Gold) is Don Logan -- the duo are best friends and small-town thieves, living the good life in '90s East London. Sarah Greene (Bad Sisters, Normal People) is Deedee Harrison, a captivating adult film star whose ambitions to control her own personal destiny and her love affair with Gal Dove put her in danger. Stephen Moyer (Shots Fired, True Blood) is Teddy Bass, a treacherous, rising name in the gangster world, who seduces Gal and Don into his criminal web, and Tamsin Greig (Episodes, Friday Night Dinner) is Don's pathologically controlling and formidable older sister Cecilia.
