Clear the stage, Sherlock Holmes! Hercule Poirot, make some room. Benoit Blanc, start packing your bags. There's a new detective in town, and he's got an incredible knack for piecing together the details. Meet Rufus Cotesworth, portrayed by esteemed actor Mandy Patinkin, in Hulu's new detective murder-mystery series "Death and Other Details."

In this official trailer, we get a glimpse of Rufus Cotesworth, the world's greatest detective, who finds himself aboard a luxury cruise liner when a locked-room murder occurs. Created by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams, this Hulu original series channels the spirit of recent Agatha Christie adaptations like "Murder on the Orient Express" and popular Agatha Christie-inspired films like "Knives Out" and "Glass Onion." It's a classic setup where a genius investigator lands in a remote location where a mystifying murder unfolds, with everyone involved having a motive.

Mandy Patinkin leads the cast, joined by Violett Beane, Linda Emond, Jayne Atkinson, Lauren Patten, David Marshall Grant, Christian Svensson, Hugo Diego Garcia, Angela Zhou, Fraser Aitcheson, and Rahul Kohli.

Director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man) directs the premiere episode of "Death and Other Details," which is set to premiere on January 16th only on Hulu.

synopsis:
Set amidst the glamor of the global elite, DEATH AND OTHER DETAILS centers on the brilliant and restless Imogene Scott (Violett Beane), who finds herself in the wrong place/wrong time (okay, it was kinda her fault) and becomes the prime suspect in a locked room murder mystery. To prove her innocence, Imogene must partner with a man she despises, Rufus Cotesworth (Mandy Patinkin), the world's greatest detective.
