You've got a bodybuilder, a slacker gym manager, a shady Vegas gunrunner, a mustachioed Dave Franco, and a bunch of questionable hairdos. It appears to be the perfect concoction for what promises to be a thrilling and offbeat crime tale / love story featuring Kristen Stewart, Katy O'Brian, and Ed Harris.
Take a look at the first official trailer for "Love Lies Bleeding," an upcoming genre-defying, neon-soaked crime thriller. This film marks the second project from rising British filmmaker Rose Glass, known for her feature debut with the acclaimed 2019 British psychological horror thriller "Saint Maud."
In "Love Lies Bleeding," Kristen Stewart assumes the role of Lou, a humble gym manager in Las Vegas, who forms a connection with Jackie, an aspiring bodybuilder hailing from Oklahoma, portrayed by Katy O'Brian ("Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and "The Mandalorian"). Their burgeoning love story takes an unexpected turn as they confront the harsh realities of Las Vegas's shadowy underworld, where Lou's own family has ties to illegal firearms and gun trafficking.
Ed Harris, sporting a striking dried-out hippie look, takes on the role of the mastermind behind these illicit activities. The film also costars Dave Franco, alongside Jena Malone and Anna Baryshnikov.
"Love Lies Bleeding" is set to have its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival next month and will then open in theaters on March 8th, via A24 Films.
