Apple has released the official trailer for "Criminal Record," a new British detective series starring the acclaimed Scottish actor Peter Capaldi, of "Doctor Who" and "The Thick of It" fame.

Executive produced by Paul Rutman, known for his work as a writer-producer on British series like "Vera" and "Indian Summers," this upcoming eight-episode drama unfolds in contemporary London. An anonymous phone call triggers a clash between two brilliant detectives surrounding an old murder case. One is a young woman in the early stages of her career, portrayed by Cush Jumbo from "The Good Fight," while the other is a well-connected man determined to safeguard his legacy, played by Capaldi.

The cast of the series also includes Charlie Creed-Miles, Dionne Brown, Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell-Moore, Zoe Wanamaker, Rasaq Kukoyi, Maisie Ayres, Cathy Tyson, and Tom Moutchi.
