Check out the new official trailer for "Night Swim," the upcoming horror thriller from Blumhouse.

The upcoming horror film stars Wyatt Russell (from "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" and "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters") and recent Oscar nominee Kerry Condon (from "The Banshees of Inisherin"). They portray a married couple who, along with their teenage daughter, played by Amelie Hoeferle, move into a new house, only to discover that their backyard pool is haunted by malevolent spirits.

Produced by Jason Blum and filmmaker James Wan, this horror thriller is an adaptation of the acclaimed 2014 short film of the same title by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire. The short depicted a young woman being pulled into the depths of a haunted and murky pool.

Bryce McGuire makes his directorial debut with "Night Swim" and also penned the screenplay based on a story by Rod Blackhurst and McGuire. The cast also includes Gavin Warren, Nancy Lenehan, and Jodi Long.

"Night Swim" is slated to open in theaters on January 5, 2024. Watch the new trailer, above.

synopsis:
No running. No diving. No lifeguard on duty. No swimming after dark... Based on the acclaimed 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire, NIGHT SWIM stars Wyatt Russell (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, who moves into a new home with his concerned wife Eve (Oscar nominee Kerry Condon, The Banshees of Inisherin), teenage daughter Izzy (Amelie Hoeferle, this fall's The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) and young son Elliot (Gavin Warren, Fear the Walking Dead). Secretly hoping, against the odds, to return to pro ball, Ray persuades Eve that the new home's shimmering backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for him. But a dark secret in the home’s past will unleash a malevolent force that will drag the family under, into the depths of inescapable terror.
